Weather or not: Bathurst history is four seasons in one day

As day three of a four day 2012 Bathurst 1000 draws to a close, eyes are on the skies once again. It’s become almost traditional to have The Great Race affected by Mother Nature. This weekend, well…it’s pretty much expected that it will rain on Sunday, during the 161 laps around the 6.213 kilometres that make up this hallowed ground.

Naturally the hope is that we don’t see the kind of rain that gave us the infamous Godzilla finish in 1992 or the tree incident a couple of years ago for the 12 Hour held early in the year, but Bathurst’s Mt Panorama IS the kind of circuit that can show mercy and hell and kindness and pain, all in one day.
