Jaguar Unleashes The XE and Updated XJ For Australia.

It’s possibly the most anticipated car from the venerable British brand, Jaguar, of recent times, the F-Type not withstanding. Since the demise of the X-Type and S-Type, Jaguar has lacked the ability to land a punch in the smaller luxury car segment, populated by Germany’s BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi, plus, to a degree, Australia’s Holden Calais and perhaps an offering or two from Korea.Jaguar XE rear

The soon to be released (September, 2015 for Australia) XE readdresses that imbalance and how; there’s to be four trim levels, being Prestige, R-Sport, Portfolio and S and a range of engines, including two turbocharged four cylinders, a 2.0L diesel and the firecracker 3.0L V6 seen in the brash F-Type.

The entry level Prestige will give the driver an eight speed auto, blind spot and lane departure warnings, 18 inch alloys and a eight inch touchscreen navitainment system. Engine choices will be the 132 kW diesel, 147 kW and 177 kW petrol fours, with the top of the line S gaining the awesome turbo 3.0L V6.

Pricing should be similar around the country, with a driveaway pricing of around $69,400 for the diesel Prestige. Head here: Jaguar XE range for information on a car from the fabled English nameplate that promises to be a thorn in the sides of its European competitors.Jaguar XE

The XJ has also been given a tickle, with the headlights possibly the most noticeable modification. There’s some subtle restylings of the bumpers, front and rear plus the grille is now a touch more upright. Jaguar XJThe headlights are fully LED powered and the “clawmark” tail lights, a design highlight of the XJ, have been updated.Jaguar XJ tail light

The interior has been freshened, with a 12.3 inch touchscreen taking pride of place in the almost gentleman’s club cabin, plus a new voice sensitive navigation system, that reacts more to natural human speech patterns.Jaguar XJ interior

To quote a certain British TV host, there’s plenty of “Powerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr” when you factor in the  supercharged 5.0L V8 that’s available. The output? A “mere” 404 kilowatts…. Available in three trim levels and two wheelbase lengths, the XJ redefines what Jaguar is all about: Grace, Pace and Space. Click here 2016 Jaguar XJ range for more information.
